I use it for development until a certain point. What you are talking about, however, is the default config and that should be whatever you determine is the best fit for the end users not us developers.

plus, developer-wise, don't lose site of the fact that usb-over- ethernet is not nearly as cool as ssh-into-freerunner-over-wlan, with the freerunner filesystem mounted locally. actually this is a pretty good config for hacking code - use your local machine to hack code, build local and deposit on the freerunner-mounted filesystem, then ssh in over wlan to test/debug/hack/etc. or, even better, use wlan to compile (put the ssh build command in a Makefile, yumm...)
