There are existing patches for conversion to new-style I2C in ALSA git
from Jean Delvare <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> that will be merged in 2.6.28.
Please don't diverge from these, it'll make cross-merging harder. See
the topic/asoc branch of:

Further patches to that to push the device registration out of the codec
driver would be appreciated, though.
