I tried to send this messege yesterday afternoon
but as it seems it never got through:
Hi
I am neither a hardware guy nor a software expert
But I could reproduce the situation and I have a "fix" for it.
I flashed Qi.
Powered off.
I tried to get into NOR boot.
This didn't work.
I tried to boot. Nothing happens (this may be because I don't have a
kernel on the µsd)
I tried to get into NOR boot several times.
I removed the SIM card.
I got into NOR boot.
I inserted the SIM card.
I got into NOR boot.
I tried to boot using Qi. (This didn't work).
After that NOR boot wouldn't work either until I removed the SIM card
again.
I hope this helps.
For me it does and I can reproduce the situation.

Great, it means it isn't any Qi-specific issue so I can stop trying to
get my head around that.
Yeah, good for you ;-)
Or maybe it was an issue with the older version ;-) ?

If this happens again, immediately measuring the voltage across the pads
of the battery at the ends with a multimeter or such would be
interesting. It would be around 4V normally.
Will maybe try that later tonight, if I find the courage to reflash again
;-) - at least a longer wait seems to cure the FR from any symptoms...
Just FYI: I reflashed the new Qi with the latest fixes from
http://people.openmoko.org/andy/qi-s3c2442-andy_0d3272a8a81dab25.udfu and
it worked flawlessly on first try ! I haven't setup the SD-card correctly
yet, as it booted from flash, so maybe that was another reason it failed so
mysteriously yesterday.
