Compared to a simple but unoptimized boot it's blindingly fast. Ten seconds from reset to user space is also pretty good in terms of the user experience, although I think most users would prefer something like half that, when using this system as a boot switch/loader. It's basically the same question as "how long would you like to wait for the boot menu" ? - Werner
