A bug has been corrected recently concerning empty directories not being removed, it might be better now.

Hi,

in order to test the recent changes of OpenMOLE, I thought I’ll start with a
clean HOME/.openmole/ directory. The “rm -rf” call seemed to hang indefinitely,
so I investigated a bit why it is taking so long. I am not really sure what the
issue is, but the problem could be some directories which themselves contain
hundreds of thousands of (empty) subdirectories:

as12312@predict5:/homes/as12312/.openmole/.tmp/ssh/5255b992-aae3-4fa6-8dce-a56079207f3d/tmp

   File: ‘1429530295537’

cd 1429530295537
As the “ls” command without options “hangs”, I have to use the option “-1f”.
Using the following command to delete all empty subdirectories still takes a
ridiculous amount of time (possibly also owing to the fact that in my case
HOME/.openmole is a symbolic link to a directory shared via NFS).

as12312@predict5:/homes/as12312/.openmole/.tmp/ssh/5255b992-aae3-4fa6-8dce-a56079207f3d/tmp/1429530295537
ls -1f | xargs rmdir
rmdir: failed to remove ‘.’: Invalid argument
rmdir: failed to remove ‘..’: Directory not empty

This command is still running and likely will take 30-60 min if not more… even
though the directories are all empty.
