Hi,in order to test the recent changes of OpenMOLE, I thought I’ll start with a clean HOME/.openmole/ directory. The “rm -rf” call seemed to hang indefinitely, so I investigated a bit why it is taking so long. I am not really sure what the issue is, but the problem could be some directories which themselves contain hundreds of thousands of (empty) subdirectories: as12312@predict5:/homes/as12312/.openmole/.tmp/ssh/5255b992-aae3-4fa6-8dce-a56079207f3d/tmpstat 1429530295537File: ‘1429530295537’ Size: 1754970 Blocks: 590800 IO Block: 1048576 directory Device: 2dh/45d Inode: 172787320 Links: 1754970 Access: (0755/drwxr-xr-x) Uid: ( 649/ as12312) Gid: ( 1750/ vip) Access: 2015-05-02 18:39:52.157056589 +0100 Modify: 2015-05-02 18:38:56.684385276 +0100 Change: 2015-05-02 18:38:56.684385276 +0100 Birth: - as12312@predict5:/homes/as12312/.openmole/.tmp/ssh/5255b992-aae3-4fa6-8dce-a56079207f3d/tmpcd 1429530295537As the “ls” command without options “hangs”, I have to use the option “-1f”. Using the following command to delete all empty subdirectories still takes a ridiculous amount of time (possibly also owing to the fact that in my case HOME/.openmole is a symbolic link to a directory shared via NFS). as12312@predict5:/homes/as12312/.openmole/.tmp/ssh/5255b992-aae3-4fa6-8dce-a56079207f3d/tmp/1429530295537ls -1f | xargs rmdirrmdir: failed to remove ‘.’: Invalid argument rmdir: failed to remove ‘..’: Directory not empty This command is still running and likely will take 30-60 min if not more… even though the directories are all empty.
