Followed the suggestion from the link in the previous comment:
"The best approach is to commit the documentation for a release into
subversion. Then check out into a directory in the website. Generally, checking
generated documentation into source control is often considered bad practise.
But it is very suitable for fixing the documentation for a particular release.
It would be possible to use the subversion URL directly. However, checking out
into the website space is better from the perspective of server load and
website mirroring. So that is recommended."
