You better do compile from source because there are several CRT  
libraries out there that are even incompatible to each other: funny  
effect can come up if you mix them the wrong way. Usually it works but  
there are corner cases...

We'll provide binary, I'm sure but compilation from source is kinda  
the goal of opensource software.

PS: Libtool insists on using -DDLL_EXPORT when compiling the shared  
library. Anybody knows how to change that to another symbol (I want to  
adapt the build system to the source, not the other way round)? Marcel?
