libswd.git is a bit of a mess commit-wise. It could be much much worse but it's also not clean. I know that you know this already Tomek. There's 82 commits between openocd.git and libswd.git, and as-is they unfortunately have no chance of making it into openocd.git, already because of the sheer time required to parse them. All will most likely have to be rewritten, in the git terminology sense, not neccessarily in the source code editing sense. For one, the commit messages desperately need to be improved so that it's possible to look at git log --oneline and make sense of what is going on. I've already written fairly detailed guidelines for commit messages: http://marc.info/?m=131698532523018 Don't get me wrong, your work will be included in openocd.git at some point, but the existing commits will not. The work on fixing up your commits is *completely* separate from your further work on libswd! This is very important. The current situation is an excellent opportunity to get involved for someone who is interested in contributing to OpenOCD, and the effort to rewrite the commits can effortlessly be parallellized with Tomek's further work on libswd. Some or perhaps even many commits could be forward ported to current master without causing any trouble, and would be a great way to help in a very concrete way with getting SWD support into OpenOCD. Feel free to ask on or off list if you have any questions about details. It helps to be perfectly fluent in basic git and eager to learn more advanced git. //Peter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keep Your Developer Skills Current with LearnDevNow!
