Yes, yes, a thousand times yes to all of the above. I hacked up a quick interface to the OSJTAG module built into the Kinetis tower boards that still hasn't seen the light of day due to the damned JTAG queue (devising a caching solution to make use of the rather bizarre compression method employed by the OSJTAG is quite a beast with the current setup). Between that, the use of globals (which just give me that not-so-fresh feeling) and the fact that the USB still uses libusb-0.1 (also has a problem with globals) just made it unpleasant. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with!
