Hello Freddie :-) Thank you for this important discussion as it also
somehow affect my works :-)

As I have already mentioned in the SWD/LibSWD thread the best solution
for me woul be:

Add my swd commits and mark ft2232 obsolete, then make _last_ release
of the 0.x.y series and start working on 1.x.y series, where is no
ft2232 driver and we have Adapter layer implemented as well as others
internals reorganization. This gives a working solution to the people
straight away, brings a release in desired time period, keeps things
backwards compatible. We put a thick line on the past and set course
for future. This must happen one day, why not today.

This approach should satisfy both sides - solution will be backward
compatible and bring something new to the "old code" that can be used
straight away and won't simply dissapear, also it will start
definitive process of internals redesign and improvements and leave
old stuff behind.

Best regards :-)
Tomek
