though. If we should invent a policy here and now I'd say that stuff that
has been visibly marked DEPRECATED for one release can be removed before
the next.
If you care to compile a list you could check when the notices were added
using git blame.
Some things, such as compatibility target names/commands (cortex_m3 ->
cortex_m) that don't really add much clutter we may want to keep for a bit
longer.
