Except they would have to change the driver used.
I think having them in the ftdi sub directory keeps the cfgs cleaner.

To be honest if it was not for windows users we would have probably
removed the ft2232 support a while ago, however at work I am also one
of those users that sometimes needs to use the ftd2xx driver to access
an adapter.
