The binary distribution obviously does not, but the public scripts used to do it might help those who want it. Why do you think end users would want to build OpenOCD? > ... Well, so far this is wishful thinking, currently the procedure is quite complicated, especially the libraries. > ... In the OS X case, I consider Homebrew to be the distro (I know > about Macports and Fink The MacPorts project is ok, since it installs in /opt and can easily be made optional by editing the PATH, but Homebrew is to be used very, very carefully, since it installs in /usr/local, which makes it permanent and thus might interfere with normal system usage, especially in an environment used for various development projects. Personally I recommend MacPorts and do not recommend Homebrew. > Installing binary packages outside of the repository is something I > would not recommend to anybody. Your web pages already recommend using the Windows binary packages made by Freddie. I think the users should be free to choose between .7z archives and setup wizards, and not expect them to build from sources, since this is unnecessary for most of them.
