Paul, please take the opportunity and complain at NXP (or former Freescale to be precise) that they should support OpenOCD. Version 0.8 is really obsolete now. Unfortunately K26 support is not yet in released 0.9.0. Feel free to grab git master and compile yourself. Do not worry about stability, git master contains only carefully tested and reviewed features.
