Yes, seems like something on the HW side, did you check the integrity of the cable from the FS2 to the Galileo board?
At times connections can break but the cable still looks ok from the outside. The other thing to check is the polarity, you can basically plug the cable in two different ways (depending on the 20->10 pin breakout board).
