I've been looking at the possibility to write a target for STM8 cpu's.
How ever I've noticed two issues with the stlink driver:

1) The stlink usb swim protocol is completely broken.

2) stlink usb driver assumes it is connected to a JTAG/SWD connected arm
processor. Specifically it try to read from some 32-bit address for the
cpu id.

So, I've been patching around with the stlink_usb.c driver and it does
work on both SWIM for STM8 and SWD for STM32 now.

Do you think it's worth submitting the patch (which is quite extensive)
or should we try to move the stlink swim protocol to a separate stlink
swim driver?
