Please retry with a current version, the one you're using is
pre-0.9.0, and it doesn't contain
874f0157eb01f8486b8e739244b4429a92a8182e and
2dcf7bf77d09f139308281c223d8562b6420b448 which might be related.
I am not able to reproduce any issues with your test SVF file and
"interface dummy" here with the latest version.

OpenOCD crashes when I want to program one of five CPLDs in a JTAG chain. When
I have four or less, it just works.
I have 5 XC9572XL devices on my board in a chain. And I'm using the GPIO on a
Xilinx Zynq through sysfs gpio from linux. I let Xilinx iMPACT generate an SVF
file for programming a single device. OpenOCD does detect all 5 devices but
when it comes to programming it crashes with some error about free() finding an
invalid next size.
When I use an original Xilinx Platform Cable USB II I can program all devices
without a problem.
