Yes it could be originating from those sources as well.

If I use duckduckgo to search for "Åke Rehnman" I see some hits
containing email addresses, some are only trivially obfuscated.

No not really it was just that it was in plain view even if not authenticated. I do not know if it makes any difference as you say it is going to be publicly visible from different git repositories.
