I got my SAME70 running by cutting the SRST line to the processor. Once I did
that, OpenOCD just worked. In the process of all this, I blew up my JTAG-TINY
(it complains of a power surge on the USB port when I plug it in, and I have to
reboot my laptop to clear the error); I'm now using an ARM-USB-OCD, and have
access to an ARM-USB-OCD-H if that'll help figure out the problem.

I also got an STLINK/v2 yesterday, and it just plugged in and ran as well, even
with the SRST line reconnected.

A logic analyzer trace ( http://imgur.com/gallery/0licm ) showed decidedly
weird results: trace 0 is the SWD data line, trace 1 is SWD clock, and trace 2
is SRST. SRST shouldn't be doing that. Hammering the reset line like that is
most likely going to keep things from working properly. That's why cutting it
made the Olimex work.
The consensus on the IRC channel is that the Olimex config files are incorrect
for the output definitions. I've traced the lines from the JTAG connector back
to the FTDI chip, and they seem correct, but I'm no expert there.
