I do not want to spoil the fun but last time there was a long and kind of
ugly discussions about linking openocd (GPL license) with proprietary
libraries (ftdi d2xx in that case) and the conclusion was that you can not
redistribute the openocd binary you build this way to the public.

So you need to take note of this.

BTW, the issue then becomes a non-issue now since the ftdi mpsse
backend kind of make the d2xx backend not really needed and OpenOCD
has removed the obsolete d2xx support.
