Hi Folks,
Kristof said you folks had discovered the ORBTrace, feel free to ask
questions here or join the Discord if you want to avoid cluttering this
channel.
I don't want to advertise, so just make you aware of what we've got. The
intention is to have a well priced, open source, TRACE capable probe,
not to make mine or Vegards fortune...feel free to take the gateware and
implement it on other FPGAs if that floats your boat! The current
gateware supports V1 & V2 CMSIS-DAP, 1, 2 & 4 pin TRACE, 3v3 and 5v
VTPwr and 1v8/3v3 VTref. That's all done in gateware but there is a
*lot* of headroom in the design...there's a whole RISC-V and 8MB of RAM
in there that's not used at all yet, not to mention a 70-odd pin
expansion connector on the underside.
As far as we're aware all the expected functionality is working in
current gateware builds. Next couple of weeks we need to build out a
webshop and website, and get documentation in place, then they'll be
available. We have 150...getting more might take a while :-(
Regards
DAVE

Hi Antonio,
Hi Mike,
I'd like to add the price too. Dave just told me on the Discord channel:

This was my previous mail:

My friend Dave Marples (mubes on Github/Discord) has been working on a
debug/trace probe together with Vegherd Erikson (zyp). It will be
available very very soon indeed, called ORBTrace. It's a dinky little
thing (see .png figure added to this mail) that offers both TRACE and
CMSIS-DAP debug. It's tested with OpenOCD, PyOCD and BlackMagic probe.
It will read SWD to file at around 1.5MBytes/sec using OpenOCD on a
STM32F427. An initial quantity of 150 units has been made and there's
a waiting list at Issue 1 at https://github.com/orbcode/orbtrace
<https://github.com/orbcode/orbtrace> It should be viewed as a
project not a product, and it's fully open source. Early adopters are
sought to help expand it's capabilities.
There's a Discord to join at https://discord.gg/P7FYThy
<https://discord.gg/P7FYThy> to learn more.
Dave is [email protected] if you want direct contact.
I told Dave about the discussion here, and he's going to join the
mailing list now ^_^
