I'm going to see if disabling the antivirus makes it faster. The Vista laptop came with some Norton security/antivirus and that caused all manner of troubles, so much so that I removed it almost immediately and switched to the free AVG antivirus. Perhaps a note about this error should be added to the README and a followup posted to the instructions in the sparkfun forum. Orin.
