FWIW I've used an Olimex JTAG-Tiny with a level shifter from Spectrum to
handle the 20pin-to-14pin issues.

There are multiple issues, all of which need effort ... including:

 - More complete ICEpick support (e.g. resetting)

- Improved Cortex-A, and especially Cortex-A9, support

OMAP4 support (clocking, reset/init, A9, etc

SMP support.

kernel debug support ... has been an issue for a long time, and
includes stuff like better MMU support.

As i understand, Panda availability isn't quite there yet either.
