Hi friends,
This week, several colleagues alerted me to a new report from the UK
Government Communication Headquarters ("Boiling Frogs?"), which takes an
in-depth look at major organizational changes affecting government
agencies today, and offers several compelling recommendations for
pace-keeping changes. Many of those recommendations involve becoming
more open.
GCHQ released the white paper on GitHub here:
https://github.com/GovernmentCommunicationsHeadquarters/BoilingFrogs/blob/master/GCHQ_Boiling_Frogs.pdf
I've not yet finished picking through it, but I can already tell it'd be
of interest to both our readers and our broader community. We'd love to
see someone write about the report for Opensource.com—offer an overview,
perhaps, of the key findings and recommendations, pen a response to the
report, or even put the report in context as one example of governments
finding new ways to open themselves up.
Anyone interested in working with the report should let me know! Grab a
copy and see what you think.
Bryan
