Hi Laura, ATO is definitely a time when the Opensource.com community gathers in person. Bryan and I will discuss this next week and be in touch with more details if we have any specific plans for ATO and the open org ambassadors.
Regarding speaking slots, I work closely with the main organizer, Todd Lewis. They received over twice as many talk proposals this year compared to last year--so it's taking them more time to sift through the submissions. I'm pretty sure they sent out an email within the last two weeks stating something like this. If you didn't get that, please let me know and I will pass the word along.
