{1} Editor's Notes
===========================================================================
Welcome to the June 2016 edition of the Open Organization Ambassadors
Report.
June was an outstanding month for the Open Organization community at
Opensource.com. We celebrated the first anniversary of Jim Whitehurst's
book with a live webcast, live community Twitter chat, global Red Hat
celebration, and the release of Jim's recent writings collected in a new
book, _Catalyst-In-Chief_.
In all, Open Organization content at Opensource.com generated 17,216
page views in June. This is the second-highest volume of views we've
ever experienced (the current record is 18,626 from March 2016). We
added 121 new readers to our newsletter mailing list, 185 new followers
on Twitter, and 293 downloads of _Catalyst-In-Chief_.

{5} Looking Ahead
===========================================================================
July 21 is our next #OpenOrgChat Twitter chat! It's going to be a great
one (aren't they all?!), with special guests working in open source,
non-profits ... and open source non-profits. We'd love to have you join
us. Bryan will be circulating questions soon. Check the official
schedule for additional details [1].
-=-
A printed edition of _The Open Organization Field Guide_ is nearing
completion. We aim to make it available from our publishing partner,
Lulu, before July comes to a close.
-=-
Our next meeting of the ambassadors will occur July 14 at 10 a.m.
Eastern time. Invites have already made their way to all participants,
and Bryan will update the proposed agenda shortly. Please feel free to
add your items to it!

Rebecca Fernandez writes:
"On June 1, we published Red Hat's Open Decision Framework [1] under a
creative commons license on GitHub with an accompanying article on
Opensource.com [2]. This brought attention from many different global
news outlets; including Business Insider, SD Times, and ZDNet; as well
as a lot of conversation on social sites including Twitter and Reddit.
Stats, as of June 24:
* ~7,000 unique views
* 42 forks (including once by our own Laura Hilliger!)
* starred (bookmarked) by 400+ GitHub users
Together with Jono, Laura, and Red Hat's Chief People Officer DeLisa
Alexander, I proposed a panel discussion for All Things Open about open
and inclusive decision-making practices. Crossing our fingers that it
gets accepted!"
[Ed. note: It was accepted!]

Ron McFarland writes:
"I'm working on three projects:
1. Over the next few months, I will be preparing articles on a wide
range of business issues and how an open organization strategy could be
successfully applied to each.
2. I have joined a volunteer group here in southern Tokyo and will be
involved in tourism and international relations over the next two years.
I'll be reporting on their volunteer promotion activities.
3. I have prepared a PowerPoint presentation on the points made in Jim
Whitehurst's _The Open Organization_. I'm having it translated into
Japanese by a friend. I'll present it to you when completed.Hopefully,
it will be interesting to Red Hat, Japan."
-=-
Robin Muilwijk writes:
"First, I had a call the other week with Brook Manville after following
up with him about meritocracy. We discussed my views and experiences on
meritocracy, and of course the open org.
Second, I am waiting for some feedback on my accountability article,
from a few people at eZ Systems. So I can follow up on that article."
-=-
Sam Knuth writes:
"I'm at summit this week, looking forward to connecting with people on
Open Org topics and working on some new 'how to' pieces."
