I'm writing to make sure everyone is aware of an important project that's underway.
The Open Organization Ambassadors are currently working on a revision to the official Open Organization Definition [1], their first such update since April 2016 (when the document hit v2.0). As always, community input and involvement are always welcome (and valuable!) during initiatives like this one, and the ambassadors invite your participation. Since its initial release, the Open Organization Definition has become one of the community's most widely used and frequently cited resources. The document really has shaped the global conversation about open organizations, and this is a perfect opportunity for community members to play a stronger role in guiding that conversation. The most direct way to get involved is to visit the Definition's repository on GitHub [2], where you can review the most recent version of the document and file your own issues suggesting additions, revisions, and amendments—or just add to the discussion around the changes that are already taking place. But, really, you can send me a note, contact any ambassador, or simply reply to this message on the list, and we'll make sure all the feedback gets channeled to the proper place. The ambassadors are targeting the end of May as a deadline for the new revision, so please do pitch in if you'd like!
