It seems OPBXers are a silent group. There were several - or many of us at Cluecon but it was the second day before it became apparent how many of us there are. A quiet minority I would say.
I didn't think we differed enough from asterisk to warrant a full speech about OPBX so on day two I gave a lightening-talk about where we came from, who we are, and why we could be a better choice than Asterisk for some applications. (I'm trying to be balanced here). Mostly I tried to give credit to you all for the great fixes and contributions many of you have made - Thanks again to contributors, testers and documenters for all you have done! Tony did give a demonstration of Freeswitch and it is the next generation of Open Source telephony -- If they can maintain their high standards and development momentum many of us may be using it next year. Of course the 80/20 rule could come in to play And progress could slow drastically. I hope many of you will support this project through testing and code review. There could be some excellent cross-pollination. Finally, let's get this .2 release out and then issue .3 in a month or two. Several people have worked up .debs we need somebody to create a tarball and maybe some RPMs. The FTP server is set up and ready to go. I'm very glad we were so well represented at Cluecon - I think we have a great project and "the best kept secret" in Open Source VoIP. -Nate _______________________________________________ Openpbx-dev mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openpbx.org/mailman/listinfo/openpbx-dev
