As I had already mentioned in #openpbx, we should make it clear in  
our documentation (including the website) ...

o   that the release candidate status is due to further work needed  
to make the release work on non-Linux platforms
o   that it is intended to proceed to full release status as soon as  
we have a BSD and Solaris, possibly OSX build
o   that we encourage interested developers working with these  
platforms to help us accomplish this


As for the release nomenclature, I think it is usual to have a hyphen  
before "RC" as in "1.2-RC1"
