On Solaris 8 (SunOs 5.8), the OpenPKG bootstrap fails if tr=/usr/ucb/tr . For some reason this tr hangs indefinately, resulting in the bootstrap hanging.
The solution is to explicitly use /bin/tr instead. -G Gregory R.
