More importantly, there are some differences between the PHP configuration
logic of the 'php' package and that of the 'apache' package with the optional
PHP module. Just one of these differences is '--disable-shared' for example.
Before reducing or eliminating the inconsistencies listed below, I'll let the
group say wether they are really intended or not.
