I am the author of AutoRPM.  I have just started playing around with
OpenPKG and I love it.  I also think that AutoRPM could be a very useful
addition.  

I envision a simple configuration file that specifies a source directory
for packages (i.e. what OpenPKG release) and whether you want to use
binary packages or compile your own.

You then have a file containing one package name per line.  This is the
list of packages you would like installed.  AutoRPM could then
automatically build (if necessary) and install or upgrade those packages
as needed.
