Yes, because the only requirement for J2EE 1.3.1 is a Java SDK at least as new
as the J2SE 1.3.1_02. Both our outdated package (1.3.1_04) and the new one
(1.4.1_00) work fine. The enterprise edition is always one step behind the
standard edition, due the latter's more widespread use and testing.

No, the category describing a java environment should be general enough to be
used with applications that require only a basic environment (which could be
the one by IBM for example.) It is probably best that we rename 'JDK' to
'JRE', which I will now do.

You still have a point though, because in case we package a different JRE some
day, the J2EE might not work with it. If this turns out to be true, then we'll
change the line from 'JRE' specifically to 'j2see'.
