http://www.openpkg.org/doc/handbook/openpkg.html#id2869840 specifically for spec file construction, and http://www.openpkg.org/doc/handbook/openpkg.html#id2797224 for a user-level overview of the package lifecycle. It's true however that some parts of the handbook are too detailed and others not detailed eneough, so it would be most practical if you posed a detailed question that we can specifically answer. In case it helps, here are some basic definitions: 'Prefix:' The place where the package will ultimately be installed, and is the same for all packages in an OpenPKG instance. 'BuildRoot:' The fake directory where the software is fake installed during the build/packaging phase (see handbook). 'BuildPreReq:' Required packages before building from source is allowed. 'PreReq:' Required packages before binary installation is allowed. If there is a lack of documentation, please let me know your opinion so I can fix the problem.
