Hmmm... I'm not sure whether this approach is reasonable. Because your
approach (1) adds this macro unconditionally and (2) adds just this
single macro. I've still not though about the whole point in depth, but
I guess what we really want more is (1) fully optional addon macros
[i.e. not activated automatically] and (2) then perhaps the whole set of
Autoconf archive's macros. At least the current solution looks like a
plain hack to me in order to solve a particular request. But this is not
reasonable for a reusable generic package.
