Thanks.I just built the bootstrap script from openpkg-20030223-20030223.src.sh, installed on a SuSE 8.1 system with the openpkg users only available via LDAP, and it worked perfectly. Older versions would create the /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and /etc/group entries with then next available uid and gid values requiring some manual fiddling to remove the file entries and change ownerships and permissions.
