Of course. Treat this as an intermediate exception. I already decided to
use the variable approach and put it into my fsl template. That's where
the /var came from. It's been used for all fsl'ized packaged now. So i'm
prepared for your decision to use constants only which, thanks to the
template, would be a search'n'replace job. In contrast, the constant in
/etc came from manual editing where i didn't want to introduce the
variable approach (now) - because it wouldn't be easy to back it out.
If you decide we should use the variable approche all over the place
there is much work to do anyway and this will catch up the constant
above, too.
