Hi, I've packaged apt4rpm, a port of the apt package manager used by Debian that runs on top of RPM.
The SRPM is available at http://apt.cis.ksu.edu/solaris/apt/SRPMS.cis/apt-0.5.5cnc6-20030912.src.rpm The packaging effort was done on Solaris, so there may be quirks relocating to Linux or *BSD. I imagine the most likely trouble will be the lack of functions "unsetenv" and "mkdtemp" which are originally from the BSD C library. A patch included in the source package contains re-implementations of these functions, inserted into the appropriate C source files. The the OpenPKG maintainers: how else may I be of assistance to help this package be adopted into the CVS repository? -- Matt Hoosier UNIX Administrator / Accounts Manager Department of Computing and Information Sciences Kansas State University
