Dear MIME victim!
When we introduced the sane build environment the top reason was to get
tighter control over the build process. Especially we wanted to get rid
of PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH as they caused some packages to suck in
items from outside the OpenPKG instance.

Not a problem, works as designed.

Having that said I want you to know I understand your problem and
the general solution for you to regain control of the environment is
by replacing the application demanding for a customized environment
by a wrapper which provides that environment. Very simple and
straightforward.
