Hi, I just uploaded a modified perl.spec based on the one in your perl-5.8.4-2.1.0.src.rpm package.
What has been added is a "with_multi-threading" option, which defaults to "no" to emulate the original behavior. We needed this capability to improve performance on some of our more complex perl usage. This change has been tested on both RedHat Linux 9 and Solaris 9. I know you're up to 2.2 now, but we're still on 2.1. Hopefully the change can be easily ported to 2.2, assuming you haven't put in the option yourself in the meantime.
