I submitted patches a week or so ago to bring python up to the
current 2.4.1 release, adding dependencies so that one could be
sure that various modules build properly.  I haven't tried
running Mailman against this though (our production Mailman
servers are running mailman-2.1.4 that I built over a year ago
under OpenPKG).

The python-2.4.1 release fixes many problems with the Berkeley
database routines amongst other things.
