Well, what i thought about was a coupling of OpenPKG and JPackage. That
means installing JPackage stuff in an OpenPKG instance. Together with
the outstanding release and security engineering of OpenPKG this looked
quite promising to me.
But then, due to time constraints i do not have a real plan. I have
netbeans and eclipse (only on Solaris 10 x86 though) and i hacked the
jpackage-utils package, so that it installs under OpenPKG. The next
package, i looked at, was the java-sun-compat one
(http://www.jpackage.org/rpm.php?id=2454).

Again, i'm more than far from having anything, let alone a plan. I also
do not have much practice and am still heavily learning.
Just thought, this would be a good time to speak about. Perhaps you already
thought about this and had reasons not to do it. At least one could look
after how they are packaging and try to be "compatible".
