Applying your patch I can build emacs now on Whitebox Linux 3 with no problems. emacs-21.4a-2.3.0sjm.src.rpm emacs-21.4a-2.3.0sjm.ix86-whitebox3.0-ope.rpm I hope this change (or an equivalent one) gets put into the updates so that later updates also work and others will not have these problems.
