I have now recognized that there *does* exist an official OpenPKG
package containing MySQLdb - it's "python-db". Thus, I installed
python-db-2.4 from ftp://ftp.openpkg.org/stable/2/SRC/EVAL/ which
works fine with your python-2.4.4.

I prefer that "official" way, which also avoids the need hacking
around with your csrpmutils and mysql-python packages.
