I just rebuilt the oracle-barebone source rpm for solaris 10, built the binary rpm from it, installed it, and tested sqlplus successfully. This is using the Oracle 9.2.0.1 release. As stated in oracle-barebone.txt, I installed the Oracle 9.2.0.1 client on a solaris 10 system, then ran oracle-barebone.pl against the result, and put the resulting *.cpio.bz2 file into the source rpm (with appropriate changes to the spec file).

I've had no luck but am new to the openpkg world so I'm more than open to the idea that I may be doing something wrong.
