Thanks so much for responding - you guys are awesome (especially for free
software!!!)
Anyway, you should first know that I already had Apache 1.3.9 installed
(without SSL) in a different directory. After encountering problems with
the OpenSA version with SSL, I deleted the old and new Apache and
reinstalled OpenSA .10. This is on Windows 98. I also installed OpenSA
.20 on a Win95 machine - still no luck (this too had an old non-SSL Apache
installed, on a different folder). I used the DOS window to execute the
following:
"apache.exe -D SSL" (just as specified by the installed Startup Menu).
This command yielded the result:
"Syntax error on line 184 of c:/..../httpd.conf: Cannot load
c:/..../modules/ApacheModuleSSL.dll into server"
Of course, line 184 of the config file is "LoadModule ssl_module
modules/ApacheModuleSSL.dll"
I removed the '#'s from the other LoadModule commands and they worked fine -
only ApacheModuleSSL.dll would not load.
I'm totally stumped - I figure that it had to do with the evil windows
registry settings, which I was hesitant to play with. I used Regedit.exe
and found (in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software) entries for:
Apache Group/Apache/1.3.9
Apache Software Foundation/Apache Web Server/1.3.9
The OpenSA Project/OpenSA 0.10 binary release/0.01.00
Each entry was blank internally, i.e. (Default) (value not set)
Hope this helps!! I'm trying to find a virgin PC (never had Apache) so that
I can install .10 or .20 and test it. I guess I could also try writing a
Visual Basic program just to test load the .dll and look at the error
messages.
I appreciate everything you all are doing - hopefully it will help others
and not just me :-)
Thanks again!

Hello Dan,
could you describe the error message you get a bit more in detail?
I installed OpenSA 0.20 successfully on Win98 and NT, and SSL worked right
away.
Regards,
Christian
