Well. I can't proxy SSL request.
Or to say it differently, I can't find the right setup to do it.
As far as I can say after having read all I could find on the apache sites about
proxying SSL, my server is probably configured ok, but I still can't relay SSL
requests from my browser through my proxy. I start to think it may be related to the
way Internet Explorer 5 send SSL requests through a proxy.
Here is some info on my configuration.
If someone has some similar configuration, please tell me if you can access https://
pages through the proxy.
OpenSA 0.20 latest (based on apache 1.3.12).
Internet Explorer 5
My apache proxy setup works perfectly for http:// and ftp:// requests.
I just can't get anything to work when accessing a https:// resource.
My proxy listen on port 80.
In IE5, both "web" and "secure" proxy settings are set to the IP of my proxy and port
80.
If I blank the "secure" setting (both ip and port), then I can of course access
https:// resource without problem. Those are not relayed by the proxy. If you wonder
why : because I do not need to go through the proxy to access outside resources. Going
through the proxy is just a matter of comfort : lowering the required bandwidth for
the 20 people here accessing the web, thanks to the cache.
Any suggestions ?
