I would like to thanks Xavier and Peter for your attention.

The problem, as Peter alerted, was in the autoexec.bat file. The path variable was
not properly set because of the spaces in the middle of the directory name.
Changing it to "ARQUIV~1" instead of "ARQUIVOS DE PROGRAMAS" was enough to made
Apache work with SSL.

Moving a step foward, after accepting the certificate (in this case the Snake Oil
test certificate) using Netscape, I received a message from Windows that Apache
have made an illegal operation and would close the application. But it don't,
i.e., both Netscape and Apache with SSL continue working. Any clue?

Anyway, after lunch I'll test again to see if the error persists. It may be just a
matter of rebooting the system.

Thanks once more.

Gregory Castro.
