Hi, Please note that with the closure of ticket https://sourceforge.net/p/opensaf/tickets/281/, The nodeinit.conf softlink is deprecated from 4.4(default branch) onwards.
To modify their NID configuration, one has to edit the nodeinit.conf.controller or nodeinit.conf.payload accordingly for a controller or payload rpm installation. OpenSAF startup reads the /etc/opensaf/node_type file and accordingly reads from the nodeinit.conf.<node_type> file. In an RPM installation, one need not modify the /etc/opensaf/node_type file. In a 'make install' based installation, by default opensaf is setup for controller, i.e. node_type will be set to 'controller'. One has to manually change this to 'payload' to configure that opensaf node as a payload. Also, this change might necessitate some adjustments to the UML environment/setup!
