Hi,

I have reviewed this and have some comments and a question.
For comments see attached .diff file. Please apply it on the ticket-2915 branch
to see my comments in the correct context. Comments are tagged [Lennart].

My question:
Does the log service pass all the new test cases?

Please make one commit containing all the new test cases instead of 7 commits.
When this is fixed you can send a new review request and I will do some testing.

Thanks
Lennart

Demonstrate some level of runtime or other sanity testing.

___ You have ^M present in some of your files. These have to be removed.

___ You have needlessly changed whitespace or added whitespace crimes
like trailing spaces, or spaces before tabs.
